Railway refunds tickets worth Tk 169.2 million so far

Bangladesh Railway has so far refunded train tickets worth more than Tk 169.2 million for the suspension of train operations amid unrest centring quota protests, according to local news portals.

The passengers who booked advance tickets for train journeys from July 19 to 24 are getting back the money. The money for online tickets will be refunded online and the prices of counter tickets will be provided from the counters of railway stations.

Railways Minister Zillul Hakim gave the information on Thursday noon, adding that the eastern and western regions of the railway suffered damage worth Tk 220 million due to recent violence.
