Rain likely to drench Bangladesh in next 24 hours

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thundershowers in all divisions including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9:00 am on Wednesday.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office update.

The country’s highest 50 millimeter of rainfall was recorded in Netrokona in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.

The country’s highest temperature was recorded in Sayedpur at 35.5 degree Celsius over the past 24 hours till 6:00 pm on Tuesday while the lowest temperature 23.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Netrokona till 6:00 am on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
