Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rain or thundershowers in seven divisions including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing 9:00 am on Monday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” UNB reported on Monday citing a regular Met office bulletin.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and Rangpur, Dinajpur, Sylhet, Chandpur, Noakhali, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore and Barishal districts and it may abate from some places.
Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country.
Besides, a trough of low lies over West Bengal to Northwest Bay across the southwestern part of Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of the Southwest monsoon.
