BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that both the proposed reforms and the July Charter will be finalised through consensus among the BNP and other political parties.

He made the comments while speaking to reporters at The Dorchester hotel in London on Monday morning, following a meeting between BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.

Asked about the July Charter, Chowdhury said discussions were ongoing. “We have already agreed to finalise the July Charter,” he added.

On the reform agenda, he said: “We will proceed with both reforms and the July Charter through consensus. Any decision will be based on mutual agreement.”

A joint statement was issued by representatives from both sides during a press conference following the Yunus–Rahman meeting, which concluded at 4:00pm Bangladesh time.

National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, and BNP Standing Committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Humayun Kabir were present.

The meeting between Yunus and Rahman began at 9:00am local time and ended at 10:30pm, also at The Dorchester.
