RMG workers torch army, police vehicles at Dhaka’s Kafrul

An army vehicle and a police van were set on fire during a protest of readymade garment workers at Kafrul area of Mirpur on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred in the area around 9:00 am when the RMG workers staged a protest against layoffs and the closure of a garment factory.

The workers clashed with police and army personnel when they arrived to calm the situation, as per media reports.

Due to the clash, traffic movement in the area was disrupted until 11:00am.
