Law enforcers have rescued Rajshahi University Vice Chancellor Prof Golam Shabbir Sattar after he was besieged by quota protesters for seven hours.
Along with Mr Sattar, 35 other administrative officials were rescued during an operation that took place at 7:30 PM, RAB said in a statement.
During the operation, law enforcers used tear gas, rubber bullets, and sound grenades to disperse the students.
Following the rescue, protesters left the campus, pledging to continue their protests.
