Sagar-Runi murder: Probe report submission deferred for 104th time

A Dhaka court has again fixed January 23 for submission of the probe report in the murder case of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
With this, the deadline for submission of the probe report in the case was deferred for the 104th time.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was supposed to submit the report on Tuesday but as they failed, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin fixed the fresh date for submitting the probe report.
On Nov 16 this year, the same court asked RAB to submit the probe report by today (Tuesday), according to local news agencies.
Sagar, news editor at private TV channel Maasranga, and his wife, Runi, senior reporter at ATN Bangla, were killed on February 11, 2012, in their rented flat in the capital's West Razabazar area.
Their only son, Mahir Sarowar Megh, then 5, was home at that time.
