The Police Headquarters has suspended salaries and allowances for 187 police members who have not returned to duty since the fall of the Awami League government.
Departmental actions, including the filing of cases, are underway against them, said Inamul Huq Sagor, assistant inspector general of police (Media and PR) on Saturday.
A separate team has also been constituted for locating and arresting the absconding police members, he said, adding that the passports of the absconding police members are also being cancelled so that they cannot flee abroad.
The absentee police members had earlier given a deadline to return to duty but they did not obey it.
