School research activities have commenced in the city of Barishal through a workshop titled ”Gobeshonay Hatekhori”, ”Beginning in Research”.
This workshop took place on Thursday (May 22) at Barishal Zilla School, with participation from seventh- to tenth-grade students from various schools in the city, according to a media release.
In the workshop, the resource person was S. M. Mesbah Ar Rahman, Executive Director of the organiser “Chintar Chash”. The organisation’s office secretary, Md. Fahad Islam, was in the overall management of the programme.
The event was inaugurated by the headmistress of Zilla School, Anita Rani Halder. Other attendees included assistant teachers Md. Monir Hossain from Collegiate Secondary School, Kaniz Fatema Jyoti from Halima Khatun Girls’ Secondary School, Shamima Nasreen from Shaheed Abdur Rab Serniabat Government Secondary School, senior teacher Alima Kadir from Barishal Government Girls’ High School, and assistant teacher Narottam Majumdar from Shaheed Arju Moni Government Secondary School.
The workshop discussed various topics, including what research is, its significance, ethics, and the relationship between ethics and research. Additionally, young researchers chose their areas of interest, which will help to determine their research proposals and methodologies in the next session.
The ‘10th Chintar Chash Young Researchers Conference will be held on October 11, 2025, at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University.
Students from across the country who participate in school research programmes and pass the preliminary selection will have the opportunity to attend this conference.
