Schools, colleges set to reopen on Saturday

Educational institutions at the school and college levels, previously closed due to the nationwide heat wave, will resume classes on Saturday; however, the primary schools will resume classes on Sunday.

The Ministry of Education on Thursday morning issued a notice announcing the reopening of educational institutions at all levels.

Schools and colleges were scheduled to resume on April 21 following the conclusion of the Eid holidays, but the closure was extended until April 27 due to sweltering heat across the country.

Classes were set to resume on April 28, despite the persistent heat wave conditions causing concern among guardians, particularly those with primary level students.

However, the authorities prolonged the closure of primary and secondary level educational institutions until May 2, in compliance with a High Court directive to maintain their closure.
