Six Islamic parties form new alliance

Six Islamic political parties, holding the spirit of the War of Liberation and the core values of the Islam religion, on Monday formed a new alliance named "Liberal Islamic Alliance".

Senior leaders of the six political parties declared the new Jote (alliance) through a press conference at Abdus Salam Hall of Jatiya Press Club in the city this morning.

The six Islamic parties are -- Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), Bangladesh Islami Oikya Jote, Ashikine Awlia Oikya Parishad Bangladesh, Bangladesh Janodal (BJD), Krishak Sramic Party (KSP) and National Awami Party (NAP Vashani).

Chairman of the Bangladesh Islami Oikya Jote and Executive Chairman of the newly formed "Liberal Islamic Alliance" Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury read the written statement at the press conference.

Chairman of the Liberal Islamic Alliance and Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP) Dr Shajada Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbhandari presided over the meeting.

Chairman of the Ashikine Awlia Oikya Parishad Bangladesh and Co-chairman Liberal Islamic Alliance Shah Sufi Syed Alam Noori Al Sureshwari, Chairman of the Bangladesh Janodal (BJD) and Co-chairman Liberal Islamic Alliance Md Mahbubur Rahman Joy Chowdhury, Chairman of the National Awami Party (NAP Vashani) and Co-chairman Liberal Islamic Alliance Md Hasrat Khan Vashani and Chairman of the Krishak Sramic Party (KSP) and Co-chairman and coordinator Liberal Islamic Alliance Farahnaz Haque Chowdhury, among others, were present.

Shajada Syed Saifuddin Ahmed Maizbandari said the alliance will work always in favour of pro-liberation forces and won't bow down to any evil force and it will speak to the deprived people in the country.

He hoped that the upcoming general election would be free, fair and peaceful manner.

Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury said anti-liberation forces are hatching conspiracy against the present government and the country, we will remain alert against any kind of conspiracy.

Besides, the alliance declared nine points, including commodities price reduction, arrest of the patrons of black marketers, and permission for peaceful rallies.
