Bangladesh Railway has announced halt of the operation of six local, mail, and commuter trains running at night to avoid hartal and blockade-related sabotage.

On Thursday, the railway’s western zone authorities announced the suspension of the Uttara Express from Rajshahi to Parbatipur and commuter trains from Ishwardi to Rahanpur.

The suspension is in effect from Friday.

According to the local media reports, halt of more train services will be added to the list shortly.

The engines and manpower of the suspended train will be used in intercity trains, said the authorities.
