Ashik Chowdhury, the Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), has been granted the status of state minister.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday.
The notification stated that Ashik Chowdhury will enjoy the status, salary, allowances, and other benefits of a state minister while performing his duties.
This order will take effect immediately, it added.
Mr Chowdhury was appointed the executive chairman of BIDA in September last year for a two-year term.
