Students of seven colleges have threatened to suspend all educational activities at their institutions if the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of New Market Police Station, the Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP), and the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Dr. Mamun Ahmed do not resign.

The ultimatum was issued during a press conference in front of the Shaheed Minar at Dhaka College at 6:40 pm on Monday.

Moinul Hossain, a student of Dhaka College, said, “The police have carried out indiscriminate attacks on students at Dhaka College. They must take responsibility for this.”

“The Officer-in-Charge (OC) and Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) of New Market Police Station must resign. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, must also resign for putting Dhaka University students and students of the seven colleges in a confrontational position," he added.

He further said if their demands are not met within the next 24 hours, students will surround the New Market Police Station, and no Dhaka University vehicles will be allowed to pass in front of the seven colleges.
