A group of students stormed into the Dhaka education board today (Sunday), protesting against the unfair results of the HSC equivalent examinations.
They claimed that they were attacked during the protest, and several students were injured.
The results of the HSC equivalent examinations were published on October 15.
The agitated students claimed that the results released so far are discriminatory and demanded a re-evaluation of all subjects through a 'mapping' process.
A group of students, under the banner of 'HSC Batch 2024,' started a procession from the Central Shaheed Minar towards the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education at around 12:30 pm.
The procession reached the gate of the board half an hour later. The group included both passed and failed students.
At one point, the students forced their way into the board. The agitated students alleged that they were attacked inside the board premises. Several students were injured in this attack.
On the other hand, board officials claimed that a group of students suddenly entered the premises and started vandalizing property. They even vandalized the chairman's office.
As of 3 pm, students were still protesting in the courtyard inside the board. Police and army personnel were present at the scene, attempting to reason with the students.
