Sylhet’s rail communication snapped with country’s other parts

An intercity train bound for Sylhet from Chittagong derailed at Fenchuganj on Wednesday evening, snapping rail communication between Sylhet and other parts of the country.

The incident took place around 7 pm in Katalpur area of ​​Moglabazar-Maizgaon section under ​​Fenchuganj Upazila.

Sylhet railway station manager Nurul Islam said the derailment of five-six coaches of Paharika Express snapped rail communication between Sylhet and rest of the country.

He said a train has been sent from Kulaura to rescue the derailed coaches. Once the rescue work is over, train movement will be normal again, he added.
