Two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) died and another student was injured in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle.
The accident took place on the Chattogram-Kaptai road near Syeda Selima Quader Chowdhury College in Rangunia Upazila of Chattogram at around 3:30 pm on Monday.
The deceased are Shanto Saha of the 20th batch of Civil Engineering Department and Toufiq Hossain of the 21st batch of the same department, according to a local media report.
Chandan Kumar Chakraborty, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rangunia Police Station, said, “There was a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle of students in the afternoon.
“Two CUET students died in the accident. Another student was seriously injured. He has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for better treatment.”
He said that the bus was seized but the driver managed to escape.
The injured Zakaria Himu is a student of the 21st batch. His department and address could not be known immediately.
