Two killed in road crashes in Dhaka

Two people were killed and another injured in separate road accidents in Mugda and Banani areas of Dhaka on Tuesday morning.

In Mugda, an autorickshaw driver named Zakir Hossain (44) was killed killed after a speeding truck hit the three-wheeler in the city's Mugda area on Tuesday.

The accident took place in front of the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustofa Kamal Stadium, near the Titipara rail crossing, around 6:00 am.

Shakil Khan, son of the deceased, told the media that a speeding truck the autorickshaw in the area leaving his father critically injured.

The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared Zakir dead.

In another accident, a 20-year old man named Md Zidan was killed and another injured after a speeding covered van hit their motorcycle near the BRTA Building in the capital’s Banani area in the morning.

The motorcyclists were rushed to the DMCH where duty doctor declared Zidan dead.

Police said the body of Zidan was handed over to his family.
