The United Kingdom (UK) is providing £33,000 in immediate humanitarian assistance for Bangladesh to support the people affected by severe flooding in Feni, Khagrachhari, and Noakhali.

This will provide vital search and rescue, food, cash transfers, clean water, sanitation and hygiene supplies, said the British High Commission in Dhaka on Monday.

It will be implemented by Start Fund Bangladesh and Save the Children International, UNB reported quoting the High Commission.

The total number of families stranded by the widespread flooding has reached 1.2 million.
