The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has suspended all assistance programmes, funded by the agency, in Bangladesh.
In a letter sent to all partners of the US agency, USAID official Brian Aaron called for the suspension of expenditure of US funds in all projects and programmes until further notice.
The decision was taken in line with the directive of the US government to halt nearly all existing foreign assistance programmes.
