The wife of a retired Air Force officer has been found dead at their home in Dhaka’s Mirpur DOHS area, according to police.
The victim, Farah Deeba, was in her sixties. Her husband, Kazi Abdul Matin, is a retired wing commander of the Bangladesh Air Force.
Police discovered her body at a house on Road No. 10 in DOHS on Sunday afternoon, said Pahan Chakma, assistant commissioner of the DMP Pallabi Zone. He said that the case is being as a priority.
“It appears the incident happened in the morning,” Chakma said. “When we were alerted, we arrived in the afternoon to find the body with hands and legs tied. Initially, there were no visible signs of injury.”
Farah Deeba was home alone at the time of the incident. Her daughter arrived in the afternoon and called the police after discovering her mother’s body. The family reported to the police that some items were missing from the house.
When asked about the circumstances of the murder, Chakma said that the police are investigating the matter. “We are hopeful that we will catch the perpetrator soon.”
