A 29-year-old man was shot dead early Wednesday while asleep at his residence in Maheshwar Pasha under Daulatpur Police Station in Khulna city, police said.
The deceased was identified as Tanvir Hasan Shuvo, general manager of an international marketing company. Shuvo was preparing to go abroad, according to a UNB report.
Quoting family members, Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur Police Station Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said Tanvir had fallen asleep while playing games on his phone with headphones on.
Around 4:30 am, family members rushed to his room after hearing a gunshot and found three bullet shells there, the OC added.
He was first taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) around 5:00 am, where doctors suggested shifting him to Dhaka. However, he died at the hospital around 7:30 am while preparations were underway for his transfer.
