A young man was stabbed to death in an attack reportedly by his rivals over establishing supremacy in the city's Mirpur area on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Roman, 27, son of Ratan of the area.
A group of young men intercepted Roman while going to Mirpur-10 from Mirpur-6 kitchen market and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, said Syed Mamun Mostafa, assistant commissioner (Mirpur) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
Police suspected that the incident took place following enmity between two groups of establishing supremacy, reports UNB.
