Zafar Iqbal is doing well: CMH

Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal is now feeling well and out of danger, the Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka says.

His mental health is also good, said Major General Munshi Md Mujibur Rahman, director general of medical services at the hospital, briefly known as CMH, in the city at a press briefing on Sunday.

Iqbal sustained serious injuries in a knife attack on the campus of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.

He first received treatment at Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital and then was airlifted to the CMH in the capital at midnight, since when he has been taking treatment there.

Also consultant surgeon general, Rahman said there are four injury marks in his head, one each in Iqbal’s left hand and backside. Besides, he has injuries on the skin and muscles of the head.

The CMH has put restrictions on visiting noted writer Zafar Iqbal to avoid what Rahman, also consultant surgeon general, said any kind of infection and sought help from all about this.
