Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshedy has been fined 10,000 Swiss Franc (approximately BDT 1.3 million) by FIFA, the world's governing body of football.

The fine was imposed due to irregularities in the handling of FIFA-provided funds, primarily in his role as the head of the BFF's finance committee.

Murshedy was found guilty of providing misleading information, issuing incorrect purchase orders, and submitting forged documents in connection with the procurement and payment processes.

The penalty was announced in a press release published on FIFA's website on Thursday.

FIFA also increased the two-year ban, that had been placed on former BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, to three years. In addition to the three-year ban from any football-related activity, Sohag has been fined 20,000 Swiss Franc.
