Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam has resigned from his post.
He sent his resignation letter yesterday to the secretary of the Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the Ministry of Finance, citing personal reasons, local media reported.
Prof Shibli was appointed chairman of the BSEC on May 17, 2020. He was reappointed as the chairman of BSEC for another four-year term on April 28 of this year.
Mr Shibli was the chairman of Sadharan Bima Corporation, the state-owned non-life insurer and reinsurer.
