The High Court (HC) division of the Supreme Court has reconstituted the board of Envoy Textiles making Kutubuddin Ahmed chairman of the company, according to a disclosure posted on the website of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The other board members are Dr Kazi Anowarul Hoque, vice-chairman and independent director, Shafiqur Rahman, independent director, Fakhrudin Ahmed, independent director, Syed Shahed Reza, independent director, Abdus Salam Murshedy, director, Mrs Rashida Ahmed, director, Mrs Sharmin Salam, director, Tanvir Ahmed, managing director, Shehrin Salam Oishee, deputy managing director, Mrs Sumayyah Ahmed, director, and Ishmam Salam, director.
Asked, Shehrin Salam Oishee said they are yet to get the certified copy from the HC.
"I can't make any comment unless I get the certified copy from the HC," Mrs Oishee said.
In August 2022, the HC reconstituted a board of Envoy Textiles for an interim period making retired justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury chairman of the company.
The country's leading denim manufacturer Envoy Textile was listed with the stock exchanges in 2012.
The company's sponsor-directors hold 57.93 per cent shares, institutes 34.81 per cent, foreigners 0.07 per cent and general investors 7.19 per cent as of March 31, 2023.
The company's share price came down to the floor price of Tk 43.90 on September 11, 2022, and later the share trading was conducted at the same price till Tuesday.
