Stock market resumes Wednesday after Eid holidays

Trading and official activities on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will resume tomorrow (Wednesday) after the Eid break.

The bourses remained closed for five days, from June 14 to 18, on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Adha, including the weekly holidays.

Trading on the bourses will begin at 10:00 am as usual and continue until 2:30 pm, including a 10 minutes post-closing session.

The DSE and CSE offices will open at 9:00 am and continue until 4:30pm.

Meanwhile, Dhaka stocks managed to close higher on June 13, the last trading day before Eid break.

DSEX, the key index of the DSE, went up by more than 35 points or 0.68 per cent to 5,117 on Thursday, the last trading day before holidays.

The DSES Index, which represents Shariah-based companies, also advanced almost 7 points to finish at 1,108, and the blue chip index DS30, a group of 30 prominent companies, gained 10 points to 1,822.

Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, amounted to Tk 4.23 billion.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), however, edged lower with the CSE All Share Price Index – CASPI – losing 6 points to settle at 14,547 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX – shedding 4 points to 8,748 on June 13, the last trading day before Eid break.
