23 industries get Bangabandhu Industrial Award

The Ministry of Industries (MoI) has nominated 23 industries for the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award 2020 and 19 industries for the President's Award for Industrial Development 2019 for their contribution to industrial development.

The MoI published names of the award winners in two separate gazettes on June 27.

According to a gazette, issued by the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), the industries have been selected under seven categories as per the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award Policy 2019.

Under large industries category, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited secured the first position, followed by Judge Bhuiyan Textiles Mills second, and Aduri Apparels Limited and Universal Jeans Limited jointly third position.

Auko-Tex Ltd and Fortune Shoes Ltd jointly secured the first position as medium-scale industries. Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited ranked second, while Madhobdi Dying Finishing Mills Ltd secured third position.

Winners of small-scale industries are: Aman Plastic Industries first position, SR Handicrafts second, and Alim Industries Limited third position.

Karukola won the first position among micro industries, followed by Trim Tex Bangladesh second, and Janata Engineering third position.

Under hi-tech industries category, Service Engine Limited secured the first position, while Super Star Electronics Limited second, and Mir Telecom Limited third position.

Under handicraft industries category, Classical Handmade Products BD secured the first position, followed by Ayojon second, and Sonargoan Nakshi Katha Mohila Unnoyon Organization third position.

From cottage industries, Cumilla Arts and Crafts secured the first position, while Rongmela Nari Kollayan Sangstha (RKNS) second, and Agroz third position.

For the President's award, the industries have been selected under six categories in another gazette, issued by the MoI administrative wing.

BRB Cable Industries Ltd and British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited jointly secured the first position as large industry. Mir Ceramic Ltd, and Zaber and Zubair Fabric Ltd achieved second and third position respectively.

Under medium industries category, Bengal Polymer Ware Ltd secured the first position, Noman Terri Towel Mills Limited second, and Auko-Tex Ltd and Crimson Rosella Seafood Ltd jointly third position.

Promi Agro Foods Limited achieved the first position under small industry category, followed by Mahabdi Dying Finishing Mills Ltd, and APS holdings Ltd in second and third position respectively.

Under micro industry category, Masco Dairy Enterprise secured the first position, Khan Bekelite Products second, and Raven Agro Chemicals Ltd third position.

From cottage industries, CORR - the Jute Works achieved the first position, while Samsunnahar Textile Mills second position.

Walton Hi-tech Industries Lid secured the first position under hi-tech industries category, followed by Information Technology Consultants Ltd, and Summit Communications Ltd in second and third position respectively.
