Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), the platform of entrepreneurs and directors of private banks, has brought changes in its leadership after 17 years.
In a reshuffle to the leadership, Dhaka Bank Chairman Abdul Hye Sarker was elected as BAB chairman during a meeting of the association on Monday.
First Security Islami Bank Chairman Abdul Mannan and Bank Asia Chairman Romo Rouf Chowdhury were elected vice-chairmen during the meeting.
Md. Nazrul Islam Mazumder, the former chairman of Exim Bank, was the chairman of BAB since 2008. Bangladesh Bank removed him from Exim Bank’s director and chairman posts after the fall of the Awami League-led government. For this reason, he lost his post at BAB.
