Bangladesh Bank urges customers not to withdraw money unnecessarily, assures stability

A spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, in a recent press conference, has urged bank customers not to make unnecessary cash withdrawals, assuring them that there is no cause for undue concern regarding the stability of the banking system, said a media release Sunday.

The spokesperson emphasised that the central bank has a well-structured plan in place to strengthen the banking sector. ‘We are working to restore public trust, and progress is being made toward that goal’, he said.

The spokesperson also noted that Union Bank is working sincerely with Bangladesh Bank, and with everyone's cooperation, it will be able to regain the trust of customers shortly.

According to the release, the reassuring statements from the central bank have instilled a sense of confidence among Union Bank's depositors and customers at all levels.
