BD 7th highest recipient of AfT

Bangladesh is the seventh highest recipient of the Aid for Trade, according to the latest statistics.

 

It also showed that the country is the largest recipient among the Least Developed Countries (LDC).

 

WTO, in association with Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), prepared the latest review on AfT.

 

The report titled ‘Aid for Trade at a Glance 2017: Promoting Trade, Inclusiveness and Connectivity for Sustainable Development’ revealed the information.

 

It showed that India received the highest amount of AfT worth $ 3,085.6 million in 2015.

 

Turkey was the second highest recipient of AfT in 2015 as the country got $2,259.0 million followed by Viet Nam which received $ 2,221.0 million in the same period.

 

Pakistan, Morocco and Kenya were the fourth, fifth and sixth highest recipient of AfT in 2015. These countries received $ 1,730.0 million, $ 969.5 million and $ 931.6 million respectively.

 

Globally some $39, 815.5 million were disbursed as AfT in 2015 of which top 20 recipient countries got $ 20,483.30 million or 51.4 per cent of the totally disbursed aid for trade.
