Mr Yao Wen, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Madam Li Yu, the spouse of the Ambassador, visited Grameen Bank Jobra Branch, Jobra Museum and met local villagers on Friday.
Ambassador Yao and Madam Li had gained a detailed understanding of the development history of Grameen Bank and appreciated its contributions to enhancing the well-being of common people in Bangladesh, said a spokesman of the Chinese Embassy.
Bangladesh's interim government Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, the pioneer in promoting microcredit for the poor throughout the world, is the founder of the Grameen Bank.
Dr Yunus started his first microcredit project in Jobra village.
