CWCCI arranges SME Expo in Chattogram

Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CWCCI) arranges '14th International Women's SME Expo Bangladesh 2024' in Chattogram. The inauguration ceremony happened on 20th April 2024 (Saturday) at Railway Pologround Field, Chattogram, and the expo will continue for one-month long. Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP, Honourable State Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was present as the chief guest of the inauguration ceremony.

Ahsanul Islam Titu MP, Honourable State Minister of Ministry of Commerce, and MD Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Honourable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, were the programme's special guests. Dilwara Yousuf, Member of Parliament (MP); Shamima Harun Lubna, Member of Parliament (MP); and MD Mahbubul Alam, President of The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, also attended the programme as respected guests.

Almost 350 stalls and 15 pavilions were set up at the fair, where the women entrepreneurs got the scope to participate at comparatively lower prices. Some zones in the fair include a women's zone, food court, startup zone, etc. As the Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared handmade products as the Product of the Year- 2024, the entrepreneurs producing handmade products got priority, and there was a special zone for them at the fair.

The expo offers diverse products, including clothing, showpieces, pottery, handmade items, and food products. In addition to our esteemed Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, we are delighted to welcome entrepreneurs from India, Iran, China, Thailand, and Pakistan, fostering cross-border business collaborations and cultural exchange.

For the enjoyment of our esteemed visitors, we have curated a range of exciting initiatives, including thrilling rides, an eye-catching entrance gate, an enchanting artificial water fountain, and a watchtower for panoramic views. To make the event even family-friendly, we have distributed free tickets to schools and entertainment parks, ensuring a memorable experience. 

Monal Mahmood, Chairperson of the 14th International Women's SME Expo Bangladesh 2024 and Senior Vice President of CWCCI, said, "We are delighted to arrange such an expo this year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not been able to arrange such a fair for some years. But this year, it has become possible for entrepreneurs to participate actively. We will invite everyone to visit the fair and have some wonderful memories."
