Gold price has again reached an all-time high in the country, with the latest increase in price of Tk 1,750 per bhori as local jewellers on Monday decided to adjust the rates following the price surge of pure gold in the international market.
As per the new tariff, 22-carat premium quality gold will be sold at Tk 1,17,573 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat at Tk 1,12,208, and 18-carat at Tk 96,228, while traditional gold will be sold at Tk 80,190 per bhori, the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) said in a press release.
The new prices of different quality of the yellow metal will be effective from Monday.
