Gold price in Bangladesh has been raised again. The price of the highest quality 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,504 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new price at Tk 126,006 per bhori. This marks the highest gold price in the history of the country.
The price hike is attributed to the increase in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market. The new prices will come into effect from Friday (August 23), as announced by Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
The decision to raise the price was made during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Thursday.
