After three rounds of price reductions, gold prices have been increased in the country’s market. The new price of the 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 116,955 per bhori (11.664 grams), with an increase of Tk 1,073 from the previous rate.
The fresh hike has been attributed to the increase in the price of refined gold (pure gold) in the local market.
The new prices will be effective from Wednesday (June 12), as announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus).
Prior to this, gold prices were reduced on June 9, as well as on May 24 and 25. In the three rounds, the price of good quality gold was cut by a total of Tk 3,662 per bhori.
