GP declares 125pc cash dividend

The board of directors of Grameenphone (GP), the largest market-cap listed company, has declared a 125 per cent cash dividend for the year ended in December 2023.
This cash dividend represents 51.03 per cent of profit after tax for the year 2023, the leading mobile phone operator said in price sensitive information published on Monday.
GP’s annual net profit increased almost 10 per cent year-on-year to Tk 33.06 billion in 2023, while revenue grew by 5.52 per cent year-on-year to Tk 158.70 billion in 2023.
To approve the dividend and the financial statement, GP will conduct the annual general meeting on May 2, and the record date is set for February 29.
Listed in 2009, GP is the largest stock when the market cap is considered. Its price has been languishing at the floor price of Tk 286.6 since September 22 last year.
