ICB Islamic Bank on Monday announced that it is committed to coming back to normal operations by the end of this May.
As of 14 May 2024 it had honoured withdrawals amounting to Tk 498 million this year, which is an unprecedented amount for the first four and a half months of any year, the bank said in a statement.
“The management and staff are making an all-out effort to handle the liquidity problem due to the huge withdrawal requests from our customers. We are also communicating with Bangladesh Bank to help us to solve this issue. So, we are committed to overcoming this situation within end of this month,” the statement reads.
“We humbly request our customers to be supportive of us during this short period of time and provide us with their cooperation. We also wish to stress that there is no loan irregularities happened during ICB Islamic Bank period. Insha Allah, with the support from all parties, we can overcome our current position by end of this month,” it adds.
