ICMAB arranged CPD programme on transfer pricing and its practical implication

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) recently hosted a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme titled “Transfer Pricing and Its Practical Implication”.

The event took place in the ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium on Sunday, according to a press release.

Prof Dr Md Salim Uddin, FCMA, president of ICMAB, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and encouraged CMA professionals to grasp and apply transfer pricing concepts, highlighting their significant potential in national and global markets.

The event featured Md Kamruzzaman FCA, managing partner of M Rashid Zaman & Co, chartered accountants, and former head of Transfer Pricing Services at KPMG Bangladesh, as the keynote speaker.

He elaborated on the fundamentals of transfer pricing and compliance standards and discussed how inefficient tax collection mechanisms often result in lower than expected tax revenues.

Mr Md Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA, past president of ICMAB and chairman of the Seminar and Conference Committee, opened the seminar.

Mr Abdul Matin Patwary, FCMA, treasurer of ICMAB, also thanked Mr Kamruzzaman for his insightful presentation.

Additionally, Mr Md Akhtaruzzaman, FCMA, vice-president of ICMAB, along with a good number of fellow members, associate members, and students, participated in the event.
