Islami Bank recognised as highest remittance recipient bank

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC received "Top Remittance Receiver Bank Award 2024" announced at the Bangladesh Remittance Fair organised in New York.

On the occasion, Raihanul Islam Chowdhury, senior vice president of the Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, handed over the crest and certificate to Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of the bank, at the Islami Bank Tower on Sunday (1 December).

It is worth mentioning that the award was announced at the remittance fair jointly organized by the Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muktadhara New York and USA-Bangladesh Business Links in honour of the bank’s continuous contribution to the reserve of Bangladesh by collecting the highest expatriate income from the United States.

Mohammed Monirul Moula, managing director, Md Omar Faruk Khan, Md Altaf Hossain, Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, additional managing directors, Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy managing director, A K M Mahbub Morshed, senior executive vice president, Mohammad Masud, executive vice president and Nazrul Islam, senior vice president of the bank, Madhu Sudan Saha and Ritesh Saha, Bangladesh representatives of Bangladesh-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with the executives and officials of Islami Bank were present at the ceremony.

Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of the bank, said this recognition belongs to expatriate remittance-workers. He expressed gratitude to the expatriates for their confidence in Islami Bank. He also mentioned that Islami Bank collects one-third of the country's remittance and hopes to continue the trend in the future.
