Kazi Md Wahidul Islam officially joins Rupali Bank as Managing Director

KaziMd. Wahidul Islam officially joined Rupali Bank PLC as Managing Director on Tuesday.

Earlier on December 12, Wahidul Islam was appointed as the Managing Director of Rupali Bank PLC for 3 years through a notification of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, according to a media release. 

Before joining the state-owned Rupali Bank, he served as Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank. Formerly, he also served as General Manager of Rupali Bank PLC.

He started his banking career with Rupali Bank in 1998 as Senior officer through Bankers Recruitment Committee of Bangladesh Bank (BRC). During his long banking career of 26 years, he was the manager of different non AD, AD and corporate branches and also Divisional head of Foreign Trade Finance & International Division, Treasury and Audit &Inspection Division etc.

Throughout his career, he has actively participated in various seminars, training programs and symposiums both domestically and internationally.

Wahidul Islam completed a BSc in Engineering from Institute of Leather Engineering and Technology from University of Dhaka with first class. He completed a Master’s in Public Affairs in International Economic Relations from Dhaka University. He also obtained an MBA.
