Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain joins Bangladesh Commerce Bank as MD and CEO

Mr Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain has joined Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited as the Managing Director & CEO on January 16, 2025.

Before joining BCBL, he was the Managing Director & CEO of Islamic Finance and Investment Limited (IFIL), First Finance Limited and Additional Managing Director of Uttara Bank Limited, according to a media release. 

He started his career with Uttara Bank Limited as a probationary officer in 1987 and served 32 years.

In his 32 years long career at Uttara Bank Limited he held important positions like additional Managing director, Chief Risk Officer, Head of Credit, Zonal Head, Branch Manager of different branches including local office.

As a member of Senior management and 2nd top executive of Uttara Bank Limited, he was directly attached to the supervision of credit Division, Human Resources Division, Banking Control & Common Service Division, Accounts Division, ICT Division, Risk Management Division (As Chief Risk Officer) Research & Planning Department etc.

His areas of expertise are Business Development, HRM, Sales and Marketing, SME Financing, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Recovery of Classified Investment, Compliance, Monitoring, Supervision etc.

Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain was born into a respectable Muslim family of Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla district. He has obtained B.Com (Hons) and M.Com in Accounting from the University of Dhaka and completed Banking Diploma part 1 and 2 (DAIBB). He participated in many professional training workshops and seminars at home and abroad, i.e United Kingdom (UK), Italy, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Sri Lanka.

Mr. Mosharaf is a charismatic and pragmatic leader and can act as a perfect ambassador for any institute, the release adds.
