NBR seeks bank details of S Alam, his family

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) asked all the banks and financial institutions to provide details of accounts of industrialist Mohammad Saiful Alam, also known as S Alam, and his family members.

The income tax department of NBR sent a letter regarding the matter to 91 banks and FIs from Dhaka's Tax Zone-15 on Thursday.

Details of the bank accounts of S Alam's wife Farzana Parvin, mother Chemon Ara Begum, and brother Abdullah Hasan have been sought.

Additionally, the banks were asked to provide details of accounts held jointly or in the name of their parents, spouse, children, or siblings, as well as accounts in the name of any business entity they are associated with.
