The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday warned of taking stern legal action if any trader is found selling meat and other commodities beyond the government ceiling prices.
RAB Director (legal and media) Commander Khandakar Al Moin made the warning while addressing a press briefing at the elite force's media centre in Karwan Bazar area of the capital.
"RAB personnel are working to prevent profit-monger traders from selling essential commodities at higher prices."
"Plain-clothes RAB personnel have already started duties at the field level to monitor the commodity price hike by a section of dishonest traders," he added.
The RAB director also said their drives against illegal toll collection from goods-laden trucks were continuing.
