Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has earned a net profit of Tk 29.8 million in the fiscal year 2023-24 overcoming the loss of Tk 2.24 billion incurred in the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the number of loss-making branches was reduced to 48 from 60.
Apart from this, deposit and debit balances were increased to Tk 71.8 billion and Tk 78.37 billion from the previous year's Tk 67.77 billion and Tk 75.87 billion respectively, according to a statement.
On the contrary, the balance of classified loans was reduced to Tk 12.42 billion from Tk 14.30 billion with a decrease of the classified loan to 16 per cent from 19 per cent.
Niranjan Chandra Debnath, Managing Director of RAKUB has expressed his gratitude and thanked all authorities concerned, including finance ministry, Bangladesh Bank and all officials, staff, depositors and the loan recipients of the bank for the achievement.
The RAKUB MD expressed his hoped to continue the progress in future to turn RAKUB into a model bank.
Niranjan Chandra Debnath also said the RAKUB clients are availing the scopes of opening bank accounts and paying bills of various utility services staining in home.
RAKUB clients can now open their bank accounts from their homes, transfer funds through RAKUB mobile Whatsapp and internet banking and pay their bills including the NESCO and WASA through internet banking services.
