Save the Children wins Development Professional Cricket Tournament

Save the Children won the cricket tournament with the participation of staff from leading non-governmental development organizations working in Bangladesh. 

The final match was held today at the Lalmatia Housing Society school ground in Dhaka. Save the Children defeated HEED Bangladesh, according to a media release. 

On Friday, teams from CARE Bangladesh, ActionAid Bangladesh, Concern Worldwide, HEED Bangladesh, Oxfam, Plan International, Save the Children, and World Vision competed in a two-day tournament held on the same field. 

Trophies, medals, and gifts were awarded to the winners, runners-up, and all participating teams.

Tony Michael Gomez, Director of Strategic Communication at CARE Bangladesh and convener of the tournament, stated, "This cricket tournament is organized to strengthen our partnership, build physical fitness, and promote teamwork among professionals in the sector."

Anwar Hossain, Executive Director of HEED Bangladesh and one of the tournament's organizers, added, "This tournament will enhance relationships among professionals in the development sector. We hope to host more events like this in the future."

The event was supported by gift partners Light of Hope and Grameen Danone's Shokti, the release adds.
