Sayeed Ahmed elected President of Cargo Vessel Owners Association, Engr Mehboob Kabir General Secretary

Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owners Association has unanimously elected Mr Sayeed Ahmed as President and elected Engr Mehboob Kabir as General Secretary of the organisation, says a press release.

The members of the executive committee elected them to the posts at a meeting of the organisation at its office in Kakrail in Dhaka city on Sunday.

There were no other changes in the organisation.

President of the association Md Iqbal Hossain called a meeting of the executive committee to resolve the ongoing impasse.

The meeting was attended by 20 of the 25 members of the Executive Committee.

Mr Md Iqbal Hossain resigned from the post.

Mr Md Nurul Haq, general secretary, had not attended the meeting.

His position became vacant as the members of the executive committee brought no confidence in him.
