Shahjalal Islami Bank holds School Banking Conference-2024 in Chattogram as lead bank

Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organised the School Banking Conference-2024 at International Convention Center, Chattogram on Saturday as the lead bank in cooperation with all scheduled banks operating in Chattogram district under the overall supervision of Bangladesh Bank.

Director of Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank Md Amir Uddin attended the conference as the chief guest.

Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over the ceremony, where the Director of Bangladesh Bank, Chattogram Office Muhommad Badiuzzaman Dider, Joint Director Pinaki Ranjan Sarker, Assistant Director Md Imrul Hasan and Additional Managing Director of Shahjalal Islami Bank Abdul Aziz were present as special guests and delivered speeches.

Deputy Managing Director and Chattogram Regional Head of Shahjalal Islami Bank Rashed Sarwar, SEVP of Corporate Head Office Mohammed Ashfaqul Hoque delivered the speech, as did lead bank representatives and participating bank representative Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Chattogram regional head of Chattogram (North) of First Security Islami Bank. Head of Public Relations and Bank Foundation of Shahjalal Islami Bank Md Shamsuddoha moderated the programme. More than 500 students and teachers from various schools of Chattogram district participated in this event.

In the event, the speakers encouraged the students to save and highlighted the necessity of saving in the future. Moreover, they informed the students about school banking and provided them with the necessary guidance to inculcate a savings mindset. The discussants mentioned in their speech that the significant amount of school banking accounts in the banking sector is highly commendable.

In order to increase public awareness about school banking, a colourful rally consisting of students from different schools was held on the main road of the city.

In the Day-long School Banking Conference-2024, children's rhymes, poetry recitation, dance performance with patriotic songs, school banking related video screening, quiz competition, prize distribution, dance performance by Chattogram cultural group Papon Academy, and distribution of gifts among students created a festive atmosphere.
