Showkat Aziz Russell elected president of Purbachal Club Limited

Mr Showkat Aziz Russell, Chairman and Managing Director of Amber Group (a renowned business entity of Bangladesh) and President of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), has been elected as the new President of Purbachal Club Limited, says a press release.

The election results were formally announced on Friday during a handover ceremony at the club's premises on 300 Feet Road, where the outgoing Acting President, Mr Mozaharul Haque Shahid, officially passed on the responsibilities to Mr Russell.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Showkat Aziz Russell expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members of Purbachal Club Limited and the distinguished guests in attendance for their trust and support in electing him as President. He pledged to focus on the club's continued growth and development, emphasising his commitment to taking strategic and effective measures to address the club's challenges.

The ceremony was graced by notable figures including Mr Ashrafuzzaman Khan, President of Dhaka Club Limited; Mr Rubel Aziz, President of Banani Club Limited; Mr Nasir U Mahmood, President of Dhaka Boat Club Limited; Mr Anowar Rashid, President of Gulshan Club Limited; Mr Faruque Ahmed, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB); and Mr Aziz Al Kaiser, Chairman of City Bank PLC. Several esteemed Directors of Purbachal Club Limited and other prominent guests also attended the event.
